School Memorial Window

This window in St Mary’s Church was commissioned by the “Friends of Stone” a group that was set up after the unfortunate closing of the local parish school situated next to the church. The school had been running for 123 years and the friends wanted to create a permanent memorial to this within the church. The window was designed around themes the children suggested such as the Peacock and Tortoiseshell butterflies that frequented the school grounds, the lessons they enjoyed, the timber framed building they enjoyed them in and the connection with the local church.
